Last week we posted about our friend Justin’s need for bone marrow donors to treat his relapsed leukemia. Here’s a quick ‘n easy way to help If you’re in the SoCal area — Swindle Magazine along with the City of Hope is holding a bone marrow drive tomorrow — Tuesday, January 6th from 10 am - 2PM in Atwater. The testing should be easy and painless — via mouthswabs, no needles.
Please be aware that by getting tested for Justin, you will be added to the national bone marrow donor registry. When a volunteer registers as a potential donor, his/her tissue type is listed on the donor file and is compared with the tissue type of all patients in need of a transplant. You can withdraw at any time, but keep in mind that you may be someone’s only hope for survival.
If you get tested tomorrow or whenever, drop a line to amanda visell (amanda[at]amandavisell[dot]com) and she will send you a drawing.
